POSITION
This is an exempt position located at the Business Resource Center in Mount Vernon, Washington. Continuation of employment will be based on the ongoing revenue generated from customized training opportunities. The Director will be responsible for the development of customized training contracts throughout the College District with an emphasis on connecting the skills and knowledge of the professional/technical faculty to their related industries. The incumbent will be responsible for the development, assessment and delivery of training; marketing programs, and client management. This position will report to the Dean of Workforce Education.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop and manage customized training opportunities throughout the College District which includes but is not limited to the strategic planning and marketing of training; coordination and hiring of instructors; budget management; and program compliance with appropriate state, federal and College policies and procedures;
· Develop and retain instructors who are qualified to instruct in a variety of disciplines which meet the needs of local industry;
· Develop and maintain a working relationship with college instructors who may contribute to the development and delivery of customized training contracts;
· Develop and implement methods for evaluating the quality of the training programs, including course content, instructor delivery, content delivery for a diverse group of learners, adequacy of facilities and tools, employer satisfaction and transfer of skills to the workplace;
· Keep current in training methodologies and technologies to incorporate in contract training proposals;
· Analyze situations and market conditions by using methods such as Gap Analysis, Modeling, Benchmarking and Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threat Analysis (SWOT);
· Assess client training needs, develop proposals for training solutions, identify instructors and identify and/or develop curriculum;
· Develop and sustain business and industry relationships to assure ongoing training opportunities;
· Promote customized training through events, workshops, tradeshows, web sites and speaking engagements at chambers;
· Develop customized training offerings to include credit and non-credit classes, on-site, e-learning and hybrid delivery;
· Research, price, generate and present training proposals to clients which respond to market pressure, department sales and profit goals;
· Utilize established grants such as the Job Skills Partnership Grant and Washington State Customized Training Revolving Loan Fund for the purposes of providing contract training;
· Research and apply for other grants to generate additional training revenue and support;
· Serve as part of a team in the development of a Public Safety Training Center;
· Perform administrative duties in support of the development of customized training.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Education, Occupational Safety and Health or a closely related field;
· Three years experience in the development and delivery of training;
· Two years experience in a leadership position.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Master’s Degree in Business, Education, Occupational Safety and Health or a closely related field;
· Fluency in a second language. SALARY Annual salary rate (for 12 months of employment) $48,000.00 per year. This annual salary rate must be prorated on the basis of percent of full-time and months of employment. Retirement, medical and insurance benefits are provided in accordance with state regulations.
