Student Orientation Coordinator Position

Student Services is seeking 3 students (preferably to-be Juniors or Seniors) who will act as Student Orientation Coordinator(s) part-time from May 2010 through mid-September 2010.

The purpose of the position is to provide leadership, organization, motivation and guidance to the Orientation Crew, implement New Student Orientation (NSO) in August 2010, and work directly with the Director of Student Activities on all aspects of planning New Student Orientation and Orientation Crew Training.

Compensation: package valued at $2,500. The person(s) in this position will live in a CU housing over summer and live rent-FREE ($2,000 value per person). See attached application for more details about the position and compensation!

Meeting and greeting students in a professional upbeat manner are the essentials of this position.

This position provides the “gateway” to becoming a CU student. This position will meet and greet prospective new students. This is a fast pace and detailed oriented position. Responsibilities include answering phones, scheduling counselor appointments, some data entry in Excel, MS Access Database, PowerPoint, Administrative software (Banner), MS Word, MS Outlook and Desktop Publishing. This position is will report to the Office Manager for the Admissions Office. Hours for this position will be mainly for Monday –Friday between 8am -5pm; for either lunch coverage, special meeting coverage, vacations and or sick days. This position is initially for one semester though reapplication for future semesters is encouraged.

HIRING STUDENT WORKERS - ADMISSIONS TOUR GUIDES

Tour guiding is one of the most important student worker job on campus. Tour guides make the first and sometimes only impression on a visitor when s/he comes to visit our campus. Working with the professional Admission Staff under the direction of the Tour Guide Supervisor, tour guides help to give prospective CU students an important “peek” at the campus from a student’s perspective. This position is initially for one semester though reapplication for future semesters is encouraged. Tours are given daily at 11:00 am, 2:00 pm, and 4:00 pm – most tour guides give between one to three tours per week.

Telefund Caller (3090) Several positions for Fall 2009!

Happy, positive, energetic and responsible students who can represent Concordia well needed to join this fall’s Concordia Telefund Call Team. This will be a great opportunity for many hours of work over a 2 month period (late Sept.-Nov.), and only the best will be included! Hours are most Sunday afternoons and most Mon-Thurs evenings. Hours are flexible to fit students’ needs, but responsible, mature, and articulate students are desired. Pay is $8.40 per hour (minimum wage), the experience is fun, and incentives are offered!
